Celebrating Dr. Richard Cottiero’s Retirement

Dr. Richard Cottiero retired effective September 30, 2026.

We are grateful for Dr. Cottiero’s dedication and service to his patients and to Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada. His commitment to providing exceptional kidney care has made an impact on our patients and our team.

Patients previously receiving care from Dr. Cottiero will receive additional information regarding their ongoing care and transition plan. Our team remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continuing to provide exceptional, patient-centered kidney care.

Office Location Update: Dr. Danyal Hassan

Effective November 1, 2026, Dr. Danyal Hassan will be seeing patients at our Henderson office. Dr. Hassan will no longer be seeing patients at our Southern Hills office after October 2026.

Important Update Regarding Laboratory Services!

KSOSN is pleased to announce the expansion of our laboratory services. Since August 24, 2026, KSOSN has been providing laboratory processing services through our own in-house laboratory.

This enhancement allows us to further integrate laboratory services with the care you already receive from our nephrology team and helps support timely access to important testing as part of your kidney care.

We are excited to continue expanding services that support our patients and their ongoing health needs.

What Does This Mean for You?

For most patients, the process will remain the same.

– No appointment is required for specimen collection.
– Patients may continue to stop by during normal office hours for blood draws and other provider-ordered laboratory testing.
– Your specimen will continue to be collected by our clinical team.
– Your provider will continue to receive and review your results as part of your ongoing care.

Insurance Requirements

Some insurance plans require laboratory testing to be performed through a specific laboratory provider, such as LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics. If your insurance requires you to use one of these laboratories, you will need to use their designated facility. If you are unsure where your laboratory testing should be completed, our team will be happy to assist you.

What You May Notice

You may begin seeing Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada listed as the laboratory provider on laboratory reports, insurance explanations of benefits, or billing statements.
