Kidney Specialists Surgical Center
Did you know that KSOSN has an Ambulatory Surgical Center? At our surgical center, we provide specialized care for patients with dialysis access, ensuring they receive prompt, expert treatment. The purpose is to maintain patency of a patient’s dialysis access.
Our services include:
- Hemodialysis Cather Procedures, including insertion, exchange, and removal
- Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Procedures, including insertion, exchange, and removal
- Thrombectomy of AV fistulas and AV grafts
- Angioplasty of AV fistulas, AV grafts, peripheral and central veins
- Stent placement of peripheral and central veins
The Kidney Specialists Surgical Center can provide the above services in a timely manner, including Saturdays. Ultimately, this prevents missed dialysis treatments, unnecessary hospitalizations, and reduces healthcare costs.
Our dedicated team uses their expertise and advanced technology to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient. The care team consists of interventional nephrologists, registered nurses, radiologic technologists, surgical assistants, access coordinators, and a center manager.

Kidney Friendly Recipe of the Month
Beef or Chicken Enchiladas
Dinner, Low Phosphorus, Low Potassium, Low Protein, Low Sodium
Ingredients:
Based on 6 servings per recipe.
- 1-pound lean ground beef or chicken
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 12 corn tortillas
- 1 can enchilada sauce
Nutritional Information per serving
- Calories 235
- Carbohydrates 30 g
- Protein 13 g
- Dietary Fiber 14 g
- Sodium 201 mg
- Potassium 222 mg
- Phosphorus 146 mg
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Brown meat in frying pan.
- Add onion, garlic, cumin, and pepper. Continue cooking. Stir until onions are soft.
- In another pan, fry tortillas in a small amount of oil.
- Dip each tortilla in enchilada sauce.
- Fill with meat mixture and roll up.
- Place the enchilada in a shallow pan and top with sauce and cheese if desired.
- Bake until cheese is melted and enchiladas are golden brown.
Served with sour cream, sliced olives, or other topping of your choice.

Meet Our Care Team
Dr. Bindu Khanna, M.D.
Specialty: Nephrologist
Dr. Bindu Khanna already had a Pharmacy degree when a physician mentor recognized her talents and guided her toward a career in nephrology. The combination of hard science and hands-on patient care immediately appealed to her.
In her practice, Dr. Bindu Khanna is committed to educating primary care doctors and the public about kidney disease and its complications. She stresses CKD prevention strategies, principally among high-risk populations. Dr. Khanna has particular interest in electrolytes and glomerulonephritis, a form of CKD that affects the kidney’s ability to filter waste and fluids from the blood.
Dr. Khanna is board certified in Nephrology.
Nora Villa
Patient Respresentative
Nora Villa is a patient representative and started with KSOSN in 2024. Nora is celebrating her 1-year work anniversary this month!
Nora has been married for 17 years and has 3 children: 1 boy & 2 girls. She was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, and moved to the US at the age of 7. Nora grew up in Arizona & California by the Colorado River.
Her favorite hobbies are off-roading, outdoor adventuring, traveling, & home remodeling.
Fun fact: Nora loves cooking Mexican meals.

- Avoid food or drink for a few hours before you visit.
- Let you provider know if you take blood thinners or other medications.
- Arrange for someone to drive you home.
