Provider Update
Dr. Angelie Santos will be relocating and will no longer be practicing with KSOSN effective September 1, 2026.

We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition of care. Patients currently under Dr. Santos’ care will continue to receive the same high-quality nephrology services from our experienced team of physicians and advanced practice providers.

If you currently have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Santos, a member of our team will contact you if any changes are needed. If you are on recall for a future appointment, our scheduling team will reach out to arrange your next visit with another KSOSN provider.

If you have any questions regarding your care or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact our office at 702-877-1887.

Thank you for trusting KSOSN with your kidney care. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your healthcare needs.

Kidney Health Tip of the Month

Schedule regular check-ups. Early detection of kidney issues can prevent complications and improve outcomes.

Educational Spotlight

Know Your Numbers

Understanding your labs and medications empowers you to take an active role in your kidney care.

For Nephrology Patients:

Learning what numbers like GFR, creatinine, and urine protein mean helps you track kidney health and ask informed questions during visits.

For Dialysis Patients:

Monthly labs provide valuable information about nutrition, fluid balance, and treatment effectiveness. Reviewing results with your care team supports better outcomes.

For Transplant Patients:

Lab monitoring helps ensure medications are working properly and your transplanted kidney is functioning well. Staying informed helps detect changes early.

Remember: Knowledge builds confidence and partnership with your care team.

Words of Encouragment

Resilience is your superpower. Each day you manage your kidney health, you are moving forward.

Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare

We are honored to announce that KSOSN has been awarded the Favorite Rotation, TY Residents’ Choice Award for 2025–2026 at Southern Hills Hospital!

This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the Transitional Year residents who have worked alongside our nephrology team throughout the year.

A special congratulations to Dr. Nauman Tahir, who represents KSOSN in working directly with the residents at Southern Hills Hospital. Through his dedication to teaching, mentorship, and patient care, Dr. Tahir has provided residents with valuable clinical experiences and helped foster a positive and engaging learning environment.

We are incredibly proud of Dr. Tahir for earning this recognition from the residents and grateful to the Southern Hills Hospital TY Program for the opportunity to contribute to physician education.

Celebrating Professional Growth at KSOSN
At KSOSN, we are proud to celebrate team members who continue to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on patient care. This month, we are spotlighting Jim Bombane, APRN, and sharing a little about his journey from Registered Nurse to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

Q&A with Jim Bombane, APRN

Tell us about your journey with KSOSN. How did you get started here?
I previously met some of the providers when I worked as a dialysis nurse. I saw a job posting on Indeed, and I applied because I was curious about vascular surgical procedures. I was hired, and my KSOSN journey began.

What inspired you to pursue becoming an APRN?
Throughout my nursing career, I developed a strong desire to expand my knowledge and play a greater role in managing patients’ health conditions. Working alongside dedicated providers and staff reinforced my passion for nephrology and motivated me to continue growing professionally.

How did working at KSOSN help support your professional growth?
The support and flexibility I received from KSOSN allowed me to successfully balance work and graduate school while continuing to grow professionally. I’m grateful for the encouragement from my colleagues and leadership that helped make my transition from RN to APRN possible.

What advice would you give to nurses who are considering advancing their education or career?
Sometimes you may feel stuck or feel like you want something more, and that could mean it’s time to try something new. Taking that first step outside your comfort zone is hard, but staying where you are won’t lead to change. Believe in yourself, educate, and invest in your future. Don’t be afraid to take a risk and remember that every experience contributes to your personal and professional growth.

What does this accomplishment personally mean to you?
Becoming an APRN is a meaningful milestone that reflects a lot of hard work and dedication. I’m thankful for my family and friends who have supported me throughout the journey. Most importantly, it allows me to make a bigger impact in caring for patients and managing their health. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that serves our patients and community.
