Celebrating 50 Years of Caring for Our Community 1976–2026
This year marks an incredible milestone for Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN): 50 years of serving our community with compassionate, high-quality kidney care! Founded in 1976 in Las Vegas by Allen Busby, MD, KSOSN began with a simple, but powerful vision: ensuring quality kidney care for everyone. Nearly five decades later, that vision continues to guide everything we do.
Today, KSOSN is proud to be one of the region’s most comprehensive nephrology practices, caring for patients across seven offices in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Pahrump, including two Ambulatory Surgical Centers, supported by a dedicated team of 41 physicians, 25 advanced practitioners, and nearly 100 support staff. Together, we deliver innovative, patient-focused care designed to slow the progression of kidney disease and enhance quality of life.
KSOSN remains committed to staying on the leading edge of medicine. Our nephrologists maintain memberships in national and international medical associations, utilize advanced electronic health record systems, and actively contribute to the future of nephrology by mentoring medical students and resident physicians. We are honored to serve on academic faculty at institutions including UMC of Southern Nevada, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Valley Hospital Medical Center, and Touro University.
Most importantly, this milestone would not be possible without our patients, caregivers, physicians, staff, and community partners. You are the heart of KSOSN, and your trust inspires us every day. As we celebrate 50 years of kidney care excellence, we look forward to continuing our legacy, supporting our community, advancing kidney health, and improving lives for generations to come.
Here’s to the next 50 years!

Heart and Kidney Journey
Your heart and kidneys work as a team. When one is stressed, the other feels it too. This month, we’re focusing on simple, meaningful ways to protect both your heart and kidney health, no matter where you are in your care journey.
For Nephrology Patients:
Keeping your blood pressure in a healthy range is one of the most powerful ways to slow kidney disease progression. Taking medications as prescribed, watching sodium intake, and staying active can help protect your kidneys and reduce strain on your heart.
For Dialysis Patients:
Fluid balance plays a major role in heart health. Too much fluid can strain your heart and lead to shortness of breath or swelling. Following fluid goals, watching salt intake, and attending all treatments help support your heart between dialysis sessions
For Transplant Patients:
Protecting your heart is key to protecting your transplanted kidney. Maintaining healthy blood pressure, managing cholesterol, staying active, and taking anti-rejection medications as prescribed all help keep your heart and kidneys strong.
Remember: Small daily choices add up. Your care team is here to support you every step of the way because a healthy heart helps protect healthy kidneys.
