BIO

Dr. Robert Merrell chose a career in nephrology while in the midst of pursuing a chemistry degree at the University of Oklahoma. As it turns out, nephrology is the natural field of medicine for a hard working Oklahoma boy ascinated by the chemistry of the body. In 1989, after several years of private practice in Oklahoma City, Dr. Merrell moved to Las Vegas and joined KSOSN where he found a group of physicians who were aligned with his practice style. With a focus on individualized patient care and a comprehensive approach to kidney health, Dr. Merrell is able to ensure a better quality of life and better outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Merrell currently serves as Vice President OCMO for DaVita Clinic Risk Support. His faculty appointments include the University of Nevada Las Vegas, School of Medicine and Touro University in Henderson, Nevada.

In his free time, this licensed pilot enjoys flying his Cessna 206 and spending time in the outdoors fly fishing and quail hunting. Dr. Merrell is married with one daughter.
