Dr. Bilal Iqbal was drawn to nephrology as it offers interesting diagnoses and allows physicians to cultivate life-long relationships with patients. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY and completed his Nephrology fellowship from University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.

He chose to work at KSOSN because the KSOSN team is patient-focused and dedicated to providing the best care to patients and maximizing their quality of life. KSOSN also has expertise in all aspects of nephrology and provides the most up-to-date management in all aspects of nephrology.

Dr. Iqbal believes that patient education is a key component of the patient-physician relationship, and that collaboration leads to better care. He believes that open communication with all the patient’s care providers is an essential component to provide the most optimal patient care and improve patient’s experience in their treatment.

Dr. Iqbal thinks it is important for people with CKD to have a nephrology provider as nephrologists manage and treat kidney disease, and are committed to slowing progression of kidney disease and early intervention is vital.

He is a member of American Society of Nephrology and National Kidney Foundation. He is fluent in English, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi.
