Jennifer Kumar, MD
Dr. Jennifer Kumar was drawn to nephrology field as nephrologists have the ability to assist patients in all phases of care, including acute presentations in the hospital and ICU, as well as provide more long-term care within the clinic and dialysis units. Additionally, they care for a wide-range of patients, including those diagnosed with electrolyte disorders, kidney stones, kidney failure and many more. She earned her medical degree from University at Buffalo School of Medicine, Buffalo, NY and completed her Nephrology fellowship from Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles/University of California, Los Angeles.
She was drawn to KSOSN given its long-standing reputation in the community of providing excellent nephrology care for over 30 years. Particularly, KSOSN offers not only comprehensive treatment, but also integrative care, working with patients and primary physicians to allow for an effective therapeutic alliance.
Dr Kumar believes that team work is a critical component to success, and her patients are at the center of that effort. She believes that communication is extremely important to the understanding and treatment of disease, and it is her goal that all patients understand their illness so they can form a therapeutic alliance in its management.
Dr Kumar was trained in a large metropolis, helping to care for patients of all backgrounds. She has also participated in research, including real-world clinical trials on novel medications in addition to retrospective studies, with the goals of enhancing patient care and promoting cost-effective medicine.
She is a member of American Society of Nephrology, American Board of Internal Medicine, Alpha, Omega Alpha Honor Society and National Kidney Foundation. She grew up in Buffalo, NY and is now excited to be out of the snow and moved to Las Vegas to join family. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching films and traveling. She is fluent in English and speaks Spanish and Hindi.
